President Kovind’s parental home goes green

HomeScape, the residential venture of India’s leading distributed energy company Amplus Solar, has successfully solarized ‘Milan Kendra’, the parental home of the Hon’ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind.

The residence where President Kovind was born, located in Paraunkh, a village over 70 km from Kanpur, is now powered by a 5 kW solar plant set up on its rooftop.

“Rooftop solar, especially in the residential segment, is an ideal solution for a country like India where land is scarce and expensive. Installing solar at ‘Milan Kendra’ has been an honour for us at Amplus Solar. We are certain this will surely raise awareness and provide a much-needed impetus to the residential solar segment,” said Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO, Amplus Solar.

The solar plant was installed within a single day by the HomeScape team, right from site inspection to commissioning, with the assistance of the Discom (Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam), UP Power Corporation and the UP PWD.

The plant will generate a total of 172500 kWh of electricity through its lifetime and will help mitigate 141 tons of CO2 emissions. The quality and design of the system, as well its speedy hassle-free delivery were appreciated. The plant was commissioned in the presence of President Kovind’s elder brother Shri Ramswaroop Bharti.
